    This patient herself is a dentist. Since she herself was a fresh dental graduate she could detect a small lesion on her left central incisor and requested me to restore it.

     

    I had to use a small periosteal elevator to reflect the gingival and see the lesion.

     

    I was wondering how to restore it. Ultimately I decided to restore it with a sealant.

     

    Clinpro from 3M was used to restore it.

     

    The retention of sealants is always in doubt and but on this central incisor where the sealant has been placed there are no occlusal forces the sealant might hopefully last.

     

    Anyway since the patient herself is a dentist she is highly motivated towards oral hygiene and oral health will report immediately if the sealant comes out.

     So what you used was a flowable composite, right?

    as i mentioned before I have used Clinpro sealant. The site is almost subgingival. fluoride release from sealants will help prevent secondary decay. i did not use any bur. just excavated the caries a little bit etched and applied the sealant.

    The patient herself is a dentist and so she will keep a close eye on the lesion.

    The post is just top highlight how sometimes we get interesting cases in clinical practice
