    dear doctor,

     

    how important you think is to photograph patient for record and education purpose?

    if yes, do they knw the proper way to record the photographs?

    what importance these photographs have??

     I think you can photograph the patient for record purposes. but if you have to use the records for presentation purposes you have to take the written permission of the patient. or else you can us the patient photographs in presentations and articles with their eyes blocked out

     It is mandatory that any professional takes the written consent when it is a matter of publishing a photograph of an individual and the same applies to us too…if utterly necessary in terms of case presentations and documentation , one must make it a point to get the consent in writing as well as explain the purpose to the patient.In case of pedo patients, parents approval would be required
