    Hi,,,, !!

    yesterdae a patient came wid pain in lower anterior region since 1 month.

    the problem was related to 31. it was tender on palpation and on percussion as wel.and grade 1 mobility also.

    den i sugested her fr a x-ray, x-ray report shows severe bone loss in relation to 31,, i juss wanna ask dat goin fr RCT will do any help in saving the tooth, n wat is d prognosis rate.Is it possible that RCT treatment help in bone formation.

    Is MTA or Calcium hydroxide best fr d treatment.

     can u scan the xray and upload.

    how much is the bine loss. 1/3 of the root, 2/3 of the root or more

     What is the cause of the bone loss? And by severe bone loss if you mean more than half of the root length, then extraction would be the treatment of choice. The IOPA would give a more vivid picture though.

     If the bone loss is because of an abscess, i would suggest open up the tooth and put the patient on analgesics and antibiotics for 3-4 days and check the response. But then as mentioned earlier an X-ray would give a more clear picture.

     thanx to oll,, yea i will soon put up the x-ray, 

    i want to clear sum poits that the bone loos was nt due to ne abcess, n it was covering  2/3 of the root,

     if the bone loss is covering 2/3 of the root then ur in danger zone. post the xray. consider SRP,splinting. u will have to teach the patient oral hygiene.
