    How accurate is alginate compared to Impression compound for recording primary impression in case of completely edentulous cases?

    Alginate is not as accurate practically as impression compound {unless u r very good in impression making} but its easy , time saving. i am taking PI with alginate . and i never encountered any problem in tray for border moulding.

    Elastomeric impressions are the most accurate and easy to use

    Alginate has good elasticity property and imp compound has tendency to compress tissue and record it in dat position which disturbs tissue in relaxed form

    Alginate has disadvantages of dimensional stability but records undercuts well
