I guess a slight rise in blood pressure may also be seen due to anxiety if plain LA is injected..There are 2 schools of thought regarding administering LA in case of hypertensive patients..many clinicians believe that if given plain LA, endogenous adr will cause unacceptable rise in blood pressure due to anxiety, so adr has to be supplied from outside to counter the action of endogenous adr…while other clinicians say that there is no need of exogenous adr as that will lead to a rise in blood pressure…many dentists use a combination of plain LA and LA with adr in case of hypertensive patients to be on a safer side..
