You may not like my answer: water is a good antiplaque rinse. In severe cases, I recommend chlorhexidine, but that is not usual. I would rather see the patient more frequently and then recommend ineffective rinses. Likewise, I do not believe in oral irrigants. The bottom line is that motivated patients will clean their mouths well with anything they use. Patients may find expensive gadgets motivating so you may see better results with them….but that is not always the case
