    Dear all eminent clinicians,

Female patient :-  Age 59 years . Medical history :-Diabetes, Mellitus with Hypertension ( both of them are well controlled)

Artery valve replacement done 9 years ago. Blood group ( B +ve)

Current prothonbin time (PT) is 37.7 seconds

Her physician has recommended WARFARIN  be stopped for at least 2 days and there after Prothonbin time should be redone.

If it is normal then she can be taken up for minor dental surgery after systematic administration of low modular weight heparin.

I want to do 4 extractions and eight implant placements in the case. Bone grafting will be required in 3 to 4 sites.

What precautions need to be taken ?

Does the long term use of WARFARIN affect bone chemistry and osseointegration ?

Any other suggestions pertaining to the case will be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see a lot of responses and many thanks in advance for the same.

    Regards,

    Dr. Veerendra Darakh
