with the massive spurt in the no of pvt colleges erupting in d past few years dental education has become a rich man’s royality in india. the fact that only money matters in these institutes is something which is not unknown to all. but then the show still goes on. with the recent crackdown by the government on colleges and deemed universities (in tamil nadu), can we hope to get some relief from this no-merit-only-capitation scenario ? ? can there be an improvement in the quality of dental education imbibed by these institutes ?? ?

This is something on which ordinary mortals like us have no control. This may be on our circle of concern but outside our circle of influence ( to quote Stephen Covey).

What I would definitely advise the fresh graduates is to supplement college education with plenty of clinically relevant CE and practice management CE.

we all are part of the system and should work towards making it better rather than fretting about current situation. students should be encouraged to attend CEs and also explore complimentary degress such as MBA (Hospital admin) or clinical research etc.
