Minimising bad debts is an important part of successful practice management. Patients now expect a range of ways to pay for their dental care, including credit and debit cards and credit agreements.Should credit or debit card system be accepted in dental practice?

it would be a good idea to accept professional charges by credit cards. however, in my experience the services provided by the various banks ( the ones who provide the swipe machine) were not very good. So much so that I had to stop using the swipe machine.

    this was some time back.

perhaps things might have improved by now.

    regards,

Dentistry is never a priority & it never will be. Dental treatment is always with the disposable income.

Besides extractions all other dental treatment procedures are elective. We are now living in times of high inflation & disposable incomes are now becoming less & less.

Besides quality dental treatment is becoming more & more expensive. Therefore every dentist must consider installing credit card terminals in the clinics.

This will make it easy for patients to pay for quality dentistry. Installing & using swipe machine is easy & can easily be learnt by the secretarial staff.

Besides nobody prepares for a medical/dental emergency. Therefore all medical/dental treatments can cause financial distress.

Therefore it is a good idea to have a credit card machine in our clinics.

    Regards,

I have had many patients who have asked if we accept cards…it is easier for them to pay as also it means instant payment in case they fall short of cash..

Can anyone tell me the procedure to follow to install a card swiping machine and the formalities to be followed

Can there be any problems if we install this system
