Accepting payments by credit cards is a fine service that you can offer to your patients.
I have an ICICI bank swipe machine and my clinic can accept professional receipts by credit cards.
However the service of ICICI bank is very poor. Most of the time the call centre systems are overloaded or down.
When I installed the swipe machine I was told by their managers that I would not be charged monthly rent as well as no transaction charges since my clinic was a medical service establishment.
Now quietly wothout informing me the bank has gone back on its word . I am now being charged a monthly rent as well as transaction charges.

Their swipe machine is continously giving problems. I was told by their call centre executives that I have been regularly sent a transaction advise by courier and that my office has been receving it.

However till date I have not received a single transaction advise, neither by email nor a hard copy.

I would recommend that those clinicians who wish to accept payments by credit cards in their clinics should consider some other bank than ICICI.

ICICI bank servers are down quite a few times. it is an excellent service that you can offfer to the patient but comes with its own hassles especially with ICICI bank. In fact, ICICI bank swipe machine technicians have themselves told me to switch over to some other bank.
