In 2003, Cosmedent introduced GINGAGuard, a new resin rubber dam substitute.

If you perform power bleaching or microabrasion in your office, you know that you need to protect the gingival tissues. To solve this, you can apply a conventional rubber dam, a time-consuming (translate=expensive) solution, or you can use a rubber dam substitute.

One of the problems with the gingival protection products on the market is that they tend to be runny. Not so with GINGAGuard. Cosmedent has made this material with a consistency that doesn’t slump. Your assistants will be happier.

Another problem that Cosmedent has addressed with its GINGAGuard material is patient sensitivity. It is formulated to produce minimal heat during polymerization. Then, when it sets, it is not sticky (i.e. easy to remove) and very flexible.
Use GINGAGuard for power bleaching, for protecting the tissue when hydrofluoric acid is used, or for microabrasion treatments. Cosmedent also recommends it for use as a blockout material for undercuts in various procedures
