The word Bleeding is synonymous with Hemorrhage.
Definition: Hemorrhage (Haemo+rrhage) means the escape of blood from a blood vessel. Any damage to vasculature leads to outflow of blood.
Bleeding can occur right from minor procedures such as scaling and extractions, to major surgical procedures in various fields of dentistry such as flap surgeries, impactions, vestibuloplasties, osteotomies, open reduction of fractures, etc.
Hence it is needless to say that -“It is the need of the time that today’s Dental Surgeon has to know every single minute detail about Bleeding, Bleeding disorders, and measures to Control bleeding.”
