A 52 year old male patient has only 18 in his oral cavity which is healthy..patient cant afford implants..can an overdenture be made over 18 or is it practical to extract 18 and give a complete denture?

Overdenture should be preferred in accordance with De Van s statement of meticulous preservation of wat is present and restoration of that which is missing….

Overdentures can be done with metal copings and do perform intentional RCTs in teeth that show slightest sign of attrition or else in healthy teeth no need for rct but metal copings help for better retention…
    Do post the case presentation

But i think over a period of time the 8 may become mobile as upper third molars do not generally have better bone support anyway..i dont think it will be cost effective for the patient..

still the same denture can be used by doing relining procedure after the extraction of third molars…….
