Peri-implantitis is a dental term used to describe the destructive inflammatory process affecting the soft and hard tissues surrounding dental implants

General term defining disease process surrounding and/or involving implanted foreign materials. Can be traumatic, ulcerative, resorptive, exfoliative.

an inflammatory condition around dental implants, often associated with some bone loss. Peri-implantitis can be compared to periodontits in natural teeth.
