A quite atmosphere in the clinic is a must for patient comfort.

The atmosphere must be as quite as possible for patient comfort. There should only be soft music playing in the background. This is possible only if everybody knows what they are supposed to do.

The primary pre requisite for such on atmosphere is that the dentist, front office staff and operatory staff must work in harmony with each other and must anticipate what they are supposed to do in the next few hours continuously. This will greatly smoothen the flow of work.

Conversation between staff and between dentist and the staff must be minimal. The more the planning the less will be the need for the team to converse amongst themselves. Before leaving for the day the team must prepare for the next day.

In the morning the staff must be present at least half an hour before the patients start so that the days work can be planned out.

Organization and planning is always appreciated by patients.

If required dentists must hire professional trainers for this purpose.

Its always a little difficult to begin with but once the ball starts rolling it is liked by everybody. Staff, patients and the clinician.

A written protocol is required for this exercise.

Write down as to what is expected of staff and give it to them. This will make their work simpler.

Every clinic must have a manual where job descriptions are mentioned in detail.
