    How do we react on a patient, being impatient, who is in queue, acting rude with the receptionist?
    This would help us to interact.

    If the patient has been appointed on a particular time and if he/she is waiting since long beyond that time, you are definitely answerable to him/her. You can try explaining the patient politely that you took a little long on a particular patient because of some unavoidable circumstances and may be apologize for the inconvenience caused to the patient. And even after repeatedly explaining the patient he/she doesnt budge, then you must start being stern and put across your point strongly. Even then if the patient doesnt listen, then i think you must ask her to see some other dentist.

    we should be polite to the highest limit possible, under no circumstances should one be rude.when patients lose their cool and develop tendency to shout, we must be stern and ask them to be polite
    In severe circumstances the doctor must intervene
    One must remember that people and social norms expect doctors to be polite and sophisticated so one must sttempt to live up to that
