When a lady is pregnant, everyone tells her what to eat, how to behave, what to avoid, what to do and what to not, etc. But no one is concerned about her oral health. The fact is Oral health of a pregnant lady may affect the Health of a Baby.
Here are some tips to follow during pregnancy:
    1. Have a balanced diet containing vitamins, minerals, calcium. Vitamin A, vitamin D, calcium are necessary in development of baby’s teeth. Vitamin C is necessary for healthy gums.
    2. Visit your Dentist before planning for a pregnancy. Get all the necessary treatments done before pregnancy. Because dental treatments are not done during first and last trimesters of pregnancy. You can have certain necessary dental procedures only in second trimester (i.e. 4th, 5th and 6th month of pregnancy).
    3. Avoid taking antibiotics like Tetracycline, during pregnancy. This affects your Baby’s teeth.
    4. There are some more drugs which affects your Baby’s teeth. Take advice of your dentist before taking any medicines.
    5. X-rays can affect your Baby’s developing teeth. Avoid exposure to radiations.
    6. Brush your teeth at least twice a day.
    7. Floss your teeth at least once a day.
    8. Maintain good oral hygiene.
