    Why we call tooth paste as tooth(Singular) paste,but it is used on all teeth(Pural).??????

    Its similar as saying SHOE POLISH
    HAIR BRUSH
    NAIL POLISH
    Its because in english language it refrs to that body part as one unit and the 1st word is more of an adjective in the word than a noun
