    Snoring and/or sleep apnea affects 3 mil- lion Australians. A CPAP device is the gold standard for treating this condition. CPAP stands for continuous positive airway pressure and this is facilitated by a machine that increases air pressure in the throat. The air is forced through with a mask that covers the nose, the nose and
    mouth or prongs that fit into the nose. Increasingly, patients often do not find success with this device for a variety of reasons, and for some this results in a really diminished quality of life.
