A patient 45/M complains of pain in the lower right region.
O/E : Deeply carious lower right 7 and impacted 8
after aving 1-2 sittings or endo treatment patient still complains of pain so should the 8 be extracted before proceeding for endo treatment.

    Regards.

first find the cause of pain. is it because of 7 or impacted molar. is there pericoronitis around impacted molar.

In my view if the 8 is impacted and not in occlusion, there’s no point retaining it….i think u should go ahead with the extraction before endo treatment because the 8 has to be extracted anyway..

i would advice antibiotic coverage, followed by extraction of 3rd molar, then endodotic therapy of 2nd molar, as after endontic treatment of 2nd molar there might be leverage of forces while removing 3rd molar which might fracture the then brittle non vital 2nd molar

A good reason to support the point..
