It’s sad feeling and choked emotions to Obituary for my dear friend Dr. A. P. Chitre — known to close friends as Kumar.
Apart from my personal loss, our Profession has lost a par excellent Oral and Maxillo – Facial Surgeon.
He was a very warm hearted person and with excellence achieved a number of milestones.
Had known hin since 1961 when I joined NAIR HOSPITAL DENTAL COLLEGE. He was my 2 years senior but that didn’t matter. Being active with INDIAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION, made me remain in contact with him. Highlight being working as a member of SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE WHICH HE HEADED AS CHAIRMAN FOR ASIAN PACIFIC DENTAL CONFERENCE IN MID NINTIES.
He agreed to attend ASIAN PACIFIC IMPLANT ACADEMY CONFERENCE IN JUNE 1987 WHERE A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT IMPLANT BRANDS HAD TEACHING COURSES.
Towards the end of conference, we both dreamed of forming an Implant Society — which we did. INDIAN SOCIETY OF ORAL IMPLANTOLOGISTS is one of a leading speciality Society.
He also took care of surgical work for myself, my family and many patients.
PRAYING FOR ETERNAL PEACE OF HIS SOUL.
OHM SHANTI 🙏 🙏.
