Chennai: Dental Council member caught taking bribe from college staff, both arrested

A member of the Dental Council of India has been arrested red-handed for taking bribe by the Central Bureau of Investigation. DCI member Dr Murugesan was arrested when he was taking the bribe of Rs 25 lakh from Dr Rambhadran, administrative officer of a dental college.

The CBI has registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Chennai and arrested Dr Murugesan as well as Dr Rambhadran. The CBI says that the official demanded Rs 1 crore and then settled for Rs 25 lakh.

The two will be produced in the court on Tuesday.
